Just set up a forum. vbulletin, paid for, skin, store etc

noticed the urls are ugly as hell and not seo friendly
now i know from wordpress when you get this you can just do one small change and you get hey presto seo friendly urls/links
sorted

question....

how do you do free for a forum?

as in this example:
http://www.acorndomains.co.uk/new-domainers/54806-geo-domains-what-population-needed.html

as i found vbseo.com but $149 for a mod is taking the piss imho, ive paid out enough now, i want a free mod or cheap as chips for this seo thing
annoying as an important thing, but you get pummelled with annual licences and updates as it is

cheers for any help

'Ugly' URLs are still indexable by search engines, but having relevant keywords in the URL will give you a bit of a boost.

vbSEO is a great product, and if you're serious about your forum I would give it a shot.

There are free alternatives, such as - vRewrite - SEOed URLs for vBulletin - vBulletin.org Forum You'll have to ahve a search on vb.org for the correct solution for your version.

THis is also worth a read if your SEO is important - Search Engine Optimize vBulletin 3.5-SEO vBulletin-Time2Dine Forum

yep, vbseo is used by most however I'm told there's going to be an seo included in the future version of vb (version 4)

Here's a friendly affiliate link to vbseo (http://www.vbseo.com/486/)
