I've seen various sites which provide users with free e-mail accounts selected from a selection of domain names - e.g. [email protected], [email protected] etc.

Anybody know what's involved in setting up such a service - I've got a few domains I wouldn't mind trying this on. Ideally I would like to outsource it all through a third party.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks
Stephen.

There used to be a pretty good package called phpmail which let you do this and, from memory, had PayPal integration etc. But unfortunately the developer sold out and it's no longer available!

Another package is Socketmail. That is "ok" but it's very quirky and they've just started charging money for access to the forum which is insane in my opinion.

If you want to outsource it all, Fusemail may be an option for you. I don't know much about them though.

If you find any more please list them here as it's a useful thing to have on the forum.

Edit: I've just realised you used the word "free" - none of my suggestions are free :(

Thanks. When I said free I meant free to my website users - I'm expecting to pay for the service.

you could do it manualy.

most decent hosts have a GUI for managing mail, its easy to add another mail box.
and you should get (almost) unlimited email accounts

True - but this would probably be a nightmare to administer etc.

Yes - I found that site but in the T & C it says

"What sites are eligible for Sponsored Mail?

Sponsored Mail is available to websites with a large and dedicated US (United States) only audience. If you do not have a large and US only audience, you can sign up for one of our ad-free paid email services at www.everyone.net."

Which is a shame.

Sorry, they must have changed it.

The one on Ecossenet has been there for about 5 yrs.

No problem - it did look promising until I read that. Not sure if I'm going to find anything suitable!
