I'm unable to login to the backend of a website.

Basically it is saying password / username not recognised.

The problem is it has been designed without any password reset button.

I do have access to all the files, databases, etc.,

Is it possible to login via cpanel and access the passwpord and username that way? If so where should I be looking?

Yep, it could just be a protected directory in Cpanel.

Is it a popular CMS?

If you have Cpanel account then you can try opening the database and looking for a table called 'users' or something similar

Most popular CMS's will have documented password recovery processes to recover the password via the database
