Ok not quite Google, but a company called Touch Revolution has a module that puts Android into microwaves and washing machines

I really like this idea. I think Samsung first did something like this with a TV and digital display on a fridge didn't they?

Interesting article. Espececially that they want to be carbon neutral and:

If Google’s application is granted, the company would be able to sell any surplus power that results from these or other initiatives.

I remember the buzz when they applied to be a registrar - Not that they are selling domains, but that they have full access to whois queries and all the other stuff. So they're supposed to be able to connect the dots between sites and people's names...
