Google 'in talks to buy YouTube'

Google is reported to be in talks to buy popular video-sharing website YouTube for $1.6bn (£856m).

The Wall Street Journal said discussions between the two sides were at a sensitive stage and the talks could break up.

Neither Google nor YouTube have made any comment.

It's crazy money! You tube doesn't even make money and allegedly costs £800,000 per month to run!!!!
Saying that, good luck to them. It was setup by 2 guys 19 months ago.
You gotta have some confidence in your site to run with those costs.
Apparently investors in amazon were putting $1bn a year in to the company when that first started!

If I recall amazon had £2b equity agreement which may be due for repayment
