Google tricked me into opening a Google+ page. Now I can't access my YouTube account?

I logged in to YouTube. It asked me if I wanted my name changed from picklesadventures to Pickles Adventures. I clicked yes. It congratulated me on opening a Google+ page for my business?!

I then couldn't manage my YouTube account any more! So I asked around, and was told to "disconnect my Google+ account in the YouTube account settings".

I did that.

Now I can't login to my YouTube account at all?! Help! What's going on?!

Have you tried logging in with both old and new names? What about using your email address?

I believe Google is aiming to eliminate multiple account holders over the next year, which is why they are pushing phone verification and auto-merging accounts.
