- Is carrying less than 11st 1lb
- Has run 10 times over fences
- Has an Official Rating between 136 and 147

The three horses I mentioned above match the above criteria plus that of 9 of the last 10 winners:

- Only 1 win this season
- Has won a Class 1 race (Irish Raptor matches all but this criteria)

The Grand National can be won by any horse, but the statistics can lead to an informed bet. If you applied those stats to last years race then you would got a 100/1 winner in Mon Mome.

I don't particullary follow form, because I've watched these horses running and I know what they can do and if they came 6th due to interference etc.
