ok i have 2 montors at the moment on a radeon 2600xt (2 dvi out)

can anyone recommend a good (cheap ish) graphics card that will allow me to use 3 dell monitors or an easy solution lol

I'm currently using a NVidia Quadro NVS 420 to run 3 Dell monitors via DVI. Could add a fourth as well if I had any room left on my desk :)

hahah at £399 i think i could just buy a laptop ahhaha

I use a USB to DVI converter, cost £40 I think from amazon

Seriously - don't use one of these, they are junk...

The bandwidth for USB isn't nearly high enough for even SVGA resolution - they lag big time, copy a file to a usb drive and it gets even worse.

Just get 2x graphics cards - you can get PCI x8 cards now, we have 8 machines at work with 2 cards in them - all work fine.

How old is your computer - what type of slots are available?

hi

its only a dell inspiron 530 and only has 1 pcie slot

I bet it's only got one PCI x16 slot - most boards also have some PCI x8 slots too...

Do you have any really small slots that are about an inch and a half big?

Actually - make sure the OS is supported first...

ebay this term...

'x1 graphics card'

Use them both, windows can take up to 8 gfx cards...

That card looks single width so you should be fine..

Do make sure your card supports your os though...

Hmm, well personally didn't think I had many options, already running 1 external from dvi out from my laptop. Does the job for me. Gives me 3 screens including laptop. It was one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002YB4DVU/?tag=acorn06-21
