Yeah, my thinking is how are UK consumers even going to know about it. Until they are used in 100s of PPC and SEO campaigns...they won't even have seen them.
PPC can happen overnight, but even an SEO company is going to take a few months to get their clients into the top 10...and not everyone has a proper SEO campaign in place.
Also, people can nick the .uk, but they don't have the site, they don't have the rankings and ultimately, it won't come naturally for the individual to type .uk naturally, for probably over 12 months and beyond. .com typo is much more likely.
