Hi everyone, having had a browse around the site I have just decided to register.

One of the first things on my mind is that I have a domain name maybe for sale but I am not so sure how much it is worth.

The Domain name is localbusinessfinder.co.uk

I have had this domain name for quite a while (reg in 2000) which is important for SEO.

My original idea was to start a local business search website in each county of the country, the domains being merseyside.localbusinessfinder.co.uk etc. Managed correctly, this can be quite a nice money earner either from paid adverts, adsense or charging for subscriptions

Any input for you guys would be appreciated

Thanks

Stu

Hi Stu, welcome

Nice domain, but more of one for the SEO's I feel, so many of these directory sites around would take quite some effort to get off the ground and make truely profitable.

I agree although when testing it I set someone up to call the local businesses and in 2 days I have 50 subscribers at £50 per year for a standard listing. This was 5 years ago when internet advertising was a)not as powerful as it is now and b) a lot less expensive than it is now.

At £50 per year it's nothing for most businesses. It was just something I didn't and don't have time to manage.

I may put it up for sale and see what happens
