Hi its been a while but i was too embarrassed to ask....im a real noob.

Whenever i sell a domain, the only method of pushing the domain to the other registrant i know of is the traditional "account name push".

recently ive sold a couple of domains but ive only been given a name ,address and telephone number? how on earth do i go about this type of domain push?

please a step by step guide is most helpful.

cheers

The buyer might not want to remain with 123-reg or may not have an account, you could ask them for their desired Nominet TAG and re-tag the domain to that TAG and then they can do what they want the domain then.

is there a fee for that process? and what if they dont have a "tag"?

If you look in your PM's I sent whoever was looking after your sale to me the instructions lifted from the 123-reg help page :)

If they don't have their own TAG, the company they use will have one and they will also have details of how to transfer in a domain in their help pages.

Transfer process is also detailed here by Rob.

Any questions just ask :)

thanks :D

but i dont understood why you have to do so much nominet paperwork to transfer a domain?

So that Nominet can confirm the identity of the seller and can confirm both parties wish the transfer to take place, you probably would be glad of the process if someone was trying to steal/hijack our domains, either way it is what it is :)

Selling your first UK domain, getting all the paperwork and working it all out is pretty daunting when you have never done it before.

Its really not as bad as it seems though. You could always ring up Nominet and get them to talk you through the process?

Good luck :D
