Hello,

I am 18 years and have been working in sales self employed for 2 years now. In January I am going to Fiji for 10 weeks to build a community centre and need to raise £5000 for building materials  lol

I thought I would try buy and selling domains to try and make some money. I bought one and sold it a week later for £120 - which for my first one was pretty good.

I have a few domains that I have bought... just wondering if people can give their opinions on them? What price I should be looking for/ If I'm honest it's getting so close to January (to raise £5k) I just need to shift them now.

shorttermloansuk.net
seoagencyquotes.co.uk
payonresultsseo.net
homeloansforpeoplewithbadcredit.co.uk
cheapestinsuranceforyoungdrivers.co.uk

What do people think?

Thanks for your help in advance!!

Em, I might be missing something here but I think you know that you won't be able to get anywhere near £5k for these since you listed them on Acorn before for prices like £20/30 and they never sold.

Er... I definitely know I'm not going to get £5k for them

I've posted them for £20/£30ish but not sure if this is about right. I have no experience in valuing domain names so asked for help....

Sorry :(

I think the point Jamie's trying to make is that if you listed them for £20 and they didn't sell, then they're clearly worth less than £20.

Exactly.

One of the domains listed in this thread was posted before with bidding starting from £1 and it still didn't sell. You might get a bit of luck with an end user though?

Ah now I see.

But I haven't posted all of them, surely one must have SOME value?!

I didn't come on here to get questioned like this!!

I'm trying to do something good in Fiji. Looking for ways to raise money. Trying to do something good rather than sit on my backside like a lot of people my age!

You asked for opinions. You also asked what people thought they're worth. Nobody attacked your good intentions, but the reality is that the value of something is completely unaffected by the intended use of the proceeds from selling it.

Perhaps you could take a look at http://www.justgiving.com/ or http://www.bmycharity.com/ or http://www.firstgiving.com/ and see if your planned project would qualify. That way, you can fund-raise for it from friends and family without having to worry about selling domain names.

I did, and I'm still waiting

Two people have told you they think they're worth nothing. How many more opinions do you need? My suggestion about fund-raising above is a better way to go... If you break it down, you have to raise about £1,000/month until you set off, which should be doable if you find people to sponsor you for things and collect via one of the links I posted.

Newbies are soo..... rude !

homeloansforpeoplewithbadcredit.co.uk has potential to an end user.
cheapestinsuranceforyoungdrivers.co.uk has potential to an end user.

Both you will have to negotiate a price with the end user.

Good luck

Three.
These names are so-so, very long, nothing particular. I don't see where the buyers could be.

Need to think of another money-raising scheme.
Good luck.

I cant see any great value in these domains to be honest keyword yes but either to long or the wrong extensions especialy for this place. you may have luck with an enduser but thats a longshot.
If you have the free time and your any good at writing then selling content is one sure fire way to make a quick bit of cash online these days
