I know what you mean. When I first decided to take a small position in .uk domains I was amazed at how many apparently valuable names were unregistered. Unfortunately I hadn't allowed for the differences in English between New Zealand & the UK. For example I have a few "flatting" related names .. only to discover that the UK equivalent is "flatshare".
As they say, you have to pay to play.
