If hosting a .co.uk on a UK server should be best for UK rankings...
Not true! I have many .co.uk's hosted in the USA and ranking No. 1 on G. Same with .com's - have some of them hosted in the UK but still ranking No.1.
Thanks - I'd be interested to know what the hosted USA ones are competing against in the UK? As if everything else is equal it makes sense to give priority to a UK hosted site?
Only if the server is faster, e.g. the most important bit is how fast the site is oppening, not where it is hosted. I have sites hosted in TX and still No.1 on G and Y (UK) for my selected keywords.
I didn't know that? Am I understanding you correctly - that google will give a higher ranking to the 'fastest hosted server' and no relevance to the country it is hosted?
