If hosting a .co.uk on a UK server should be best for UK rankings

What country server should be best for a .com on global rankings?

USA or UK or other or doesn't matter?

Thanks

It was more important for cctld's than tld's
Who you host with, site neighbours, downtime, type of hosting etc is what I'd look at and that often mean's more expensive.... People often say global when reality is English speaking ? Biggest English speaking market is USA…

Some argue to rank well on all you should have all..?

Not true! I have many .co.uk's hosted in the USA and ranking No. 1 on G. Same with .com's - have some of them hosted in the UK but still ranking No.1.

Thanks - I'd be interested to know what the hosted USA ones are competing against in the UK? As if everything else is equal it makes sense to give priority to a UK hosted site?

Only if the server is faster, e.g. the most important bit is how fast the site is oppening, not where it is hosted. I have sites hosted in TX and still No.1 on G and Y (UK) for my selected keywords.

I didn't know that? Am I understanding you correctly - that google will give a higher ranking to the 'fastest hosted server' and no relevance to the country it is hosted?
