Bl**dy hell, I seen a hot air balloon go over my house yesterday quite high and thought what a daft time of the year to get that out especially with the weather being bad I thought the air pressure high up is probably to low.

Unfortunately it looks like I was right, they went out on it this morning apparently upto 20,000ft and the balloon just folded in on itself and the whole thing crash landed and the cyclinders blow up on impact and now both men onboard are dead

I heard the news this morning but only just seen footage of the balloon, it's the one I seen yesterday and had doubts about it Balloon crash

Them things are dangerous, in August one safely crash landed in front of my house in the park ( nobody was hurt ) and another was dropping fast and they just managed to rise it above a large Oak tree by what looked like about 3ft also outside my house.

You won't catch me on one of them things :|

Why don't they carry parachutes on these things? Wouldn't get on one of them without a chute, no chance. The list of things reasonable that could go wrong are endless.

Apparently it was the canisters exploding that killed them but witnesses say it went from simply floating through the air as normal to hitting the ground in a matter of seconds so no time for chutes.

I wouldn't get on because altough I have no fear of heights I do get this strange overwhelming urge to jump from high heights and I am not suicidal, it's part of my OCD I think ? :p

The bit about you jumping is the most common part of the fear of heights. The only way round it is to get used to it and become familar with heights. The more you do it, the more you will forget about that urge.

I thought they were trying to heat it all the way to the ground. From the footgage it dropped from at least 1000ft, no doubt knowing full well what was the end product awaiting them. In general though, they should all be wearing chutes if they had any sense. First sign of trouble and I'd be out of there.

Then I don't understand it ? I climbed over a balcony once on some steps in Barcelona with a drop of about 150ft and leaned out, people thought I was mental and I went on Dragon Khan with my eyes open.

Ah well, I still havn't been over the Clifton suspension bridge and probably never will :-|

Nice, so they break both their legs on impact and then get kebabed in the process of making an escape?

I think i will also give ballooning a miss.

Of course, the story could be a lot of hot air made up by a couple of basket cases.

ooooh. That's bad, even by my standards. I apologise.

Mods, please remove contents .......

As it will enhibit play, come the new bowling season.

Is it that obvious?

Actually, I take offence to that. Just because I bowl out a couple of remarks, your going to shoot me down in flames.

As the saying goes, "the grass is always greener on the other side". This time, I think it could be right.
