Hello,

I have a domain name that is very specific to a service a business can provide.

it is wordwordword.co.uk

There is a registered ltd company called samewordsamewordsameword LTD who's domain name is sameword-sameword-sameword.co.uk

So basically I have the same domain as them without the hyphens.

I am thinking of pitching the sale of it to them, but am wondering if they can just ceast and desist and take it from me legally? I don't think they have a trademark, just a ltd company.
I also own the .ltd.uk of the same name.

Many Thanks.

So did you register your domain before they registered yours?

Your ltd domain, did you lie on your registration or was this a ltd company previously you owned?

Or does it match of sorts to a ltd company you currently own?

If you have simply registered a domain and wanting to sell it to them then that is fair enough IMO

However, if you have registered the ltd company domain to further aid your sale, you are now bordering criminality and should stop, or at least delete the ltd domain.

Do tell it's quite interesting?

Ok so I was speaking hypothetically - I don't own the domains however both of them are available and for the basic price. So I shouldn't register the LTD :) I just thought it would be enticing for them to buy both as a package!

You can't register Ltd domains without having a pre-existing Ltd company of the same name - ltd.uk is not an "open" namespace. So it may appear available, but that doesn't make it available to you.

Ok, thank you :) This is why I post in "New Domainers" hah!

I have a .ltd.uk already but own both the .co.uk and registered the name with companies house.

What about my question with the .co.uk?
