When you search in Google for say a place that sells beds just as an example what would you type?

This can be any type of product or service, sign makers, estate agents etc but just would like a AD insight.

Do you just type in
"Bed shops"
"Bed Shops - geo location"
"Geo location beds"

And what do you use more in a search Companies or Businesses

I am covering all angles when SEOing but just thought i'd ask the question.

I feel a poll coming on! :D

Can we have a "Product/Service" poll option?

For example I might search for "5x optical zoom digital camera, less than £100" or something along those lines.

Rob it's now setup so not sure I can add that :)

It was just a overall view I wanted but if people do just search for a product or service then does it need adding?

Usually when you search for say "Cheap Cleaners" or just "Cleaners" you get WIKI, directories, or a company in London, Liverpool or Leeds filling the 1st page of Google, no good if you live in Newquay and want to see a companies website!!

I know it doesn't matter for online ordering, so it's more of an insight to what you do when looking for local stuff.

You may well be doing this anyway, but you can get an idea about keyword search popularity from Google Adwords

It doesn't tell you which is more searched for - town keyword or keyword town - but it does tell you common keyword combinations.

I personally search for keyword town.

Actually the external keyword tool will tell you the numbers for what order people search the words in if you select "exact" as the match type instead of the default "broad" (which does not take word order into account).

eg:

[garages london] 390 exact match monthly UK based searches.
[london garages] 140 exact match monthly UK based searches.

So GaragesLondon.co.uk is a more valuable keyword domain than LondonGarages.co.uk.

Personally I use that to help determine a domain's value, select good keyword order for titles etc etc.

Very geo

As mentioned I also use Google keywords tool to research the geo patterns on some keywords. Its very interesting to see the results for car rentals (or car hire). Something to remember if I'm traveling from North America to the UK I'd likely never type in car hire. Something to consider when you're doing geo specific travel related search.
EXAMPLE - London short term apartment rental (not flat rental)
