how much for advertising ?

is there a standard monthly or annual charge for advertising on a site ?

I'm guessing it will be based on the daily pageviews of something ?

There isn't a standard per se, but if you get the rate cards from a few sites you'll soon see what the list prices are like

Most places charge CPM ie. per thousand impressions, but a few sites will do time based.
