Hi all, i have been emailed by someone asking to buy one of my domains.

I haven't sold a domain before, so what procedure should I follow to make sure if I do sell it that I don't get ripped off?

Thanks

First, do some research on the buyer - is it an individual or an individual representing a company? Just type in the name of the person or the company on Google and you'll get an idea how serious, big or small the entity you're dealing with. Depending on the quality of your domain and the "financial capacity" or "stability" of your buyer, you can then state your price. Browse the forum for pricing trend/mechanisms and negotiation tips.

Just take it one step at a time - and you'll get a feel for how to progress. _ (I'll assume its a reasonable 2 word generic/descriptive term)

As rainbowjet has correctly stated. The domain itself should give you some idea of who it will attract and why.

You were emailed - Look to identify your interested buyer - there can become hours of work behind that so don't get over focused.

Build up as much a knowledge base as reasonable and practical given the domains value to you, then go with instinct.
