Saw this domain advertised on TV last night at the end of an advert for one of the biggest cosmetic companies in the world.

http://www.hair-oil.co.uk

Watch the advert all the way to the end and see if you can spot the mistake

Nokta must be happy :)

She was scared of mixing hyphen with something else so she left it out :-)

I dont understand why a big company like that would not secure the non Hyphenated version of a domain name. When they will not think twice spending millions on advertising....

I think it's a question of relative importance. Management want the ad to create awareness for sales in shops, and worrying about whether they have the domain hyphenated or not is down on their list of priorities. It may be surprising to hear a domainer say this, but you have to appreciate the business perspective too.

Ouch.

But in saying that, it looks like they didn't want to spend any of their money on a domain anyway!

As Jamie said, ouch!

Funnily enough I just spotted one of mine in your old list - screenprint.org.uk, obviously you've got your finger on the pulse at spotting all the greats but not regging them;-)

I have lots of hair-oil.co.uk caused by greasy food from just-eat.co.uk.

When I win the national-lottery.co.uk, I'm going to set up a company to sell my hair-oil.

I didn't realize there was a market for it!

Sounds like when you win the national-lottery you should be checking out kitchen-compare.com

lol! I will ;)

But I like greasy easy food delivered to my door.

I have private medical from health-on-line.co.uk .... so no worries about clogged arteries

I'm guessing some marketing companies want maximum readability.
Maybe domainers are quicker at being able to read multi word domains than joe public

hairoil.co.uk
hair-oil.co.uk

They also use loreal-paris.co.uk
