Eyjafjallajoekull.co.uk and .com , both regged on the 18th of April , i presume they have made a good buy as it has a fair chance of causing furthur problems in the near future.

Surely it was worth the reg fee and as long as they get the sites up quickly etc , are they on to a winner with the right googleads and affliates etc ?

Any idea on the value of these two domains.

You've spelt it wrong, it should be eyjafjallajokull.co.uk. This demonstrates the problem with the domains, they are incredibly hard to spell. I personally think this makes the domains very low value, because it won't be a search traffic. Even if people wanted to find it, they'd probably misspell it.

I couldn't resists putting up a quick page called volcanic ash flight disruption, which is currently page 4 of Google for the term. This term would have been a much better reg (donations if you do lol). If it was not for the fact that I'm not focusing on the travel sector at the moment, I might have done a few more related pages, but it's not really worth the bother for me and providing quality info is hard too.

Rgds

Your right , believe it or not i cut and pasted it from a bbc news article then googled , it did say "did you mean" , i was quite surprised that the bbc had indeed spelt it incorrectly , but once again it does prove what a easy one to mispell ,but google does correct it .

icelandicvolcanoes.co.uk free to reg... at least I can spell that and know how its pronounced!

Eyjaf... what... I am never going to spell it right :D Even to register a domain. I'd better check the bbc news.

By the time you get this ranked it will be old news, not only that, people want to read about the volcano but do they search for this odd named place with the intention of buying a product or service = NO.

Good luck recovering your reg fees to whoever regged them ;)

I see 'Katla' - the bigger and more frightening volcano next door (that is due for eruption) has been registered too.....
