The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) is today marking 15 years of removing illegal images of child abuse from the internet.
Since launching in 1996 the IWF has had a huge impact in reducing the amount of such content on websites hosted in the UK from 18 percent in 1997 to less than one percent since 2003. Offending material can usually be removed within a matter of hours.
