IPv4 running out won’t break the internet

You may have read some of the widespread media coverage that the last batch of “IPv4” addresses was allocated this week, some of those stories implying that the internet is ‘out of space’ or near breaking point. Whilst the number of IPv4 addresses available is running low, the internet isn’t about to fall over from this.
