I see BlackSwan.uk sold for £401

Is there any value in .uk pub/hotel names?

Thanks

No exclusively a pub name, sounds quite elegant to me, I would have bought it for £150 but as ever I'm priced out

And yeah you can sell pub/hotel names but generally I wouldn't expect for more than lower xxx, all depends on the type of name and establishment that might use it

I registered RedCow uk if someone offered me low xxx id take it

I also have TheDrawingRoom couk + uk id ask for x,xxx for that

Thanks Murray,

I'll have a look through namebio for past sales of pub names.

I also registered a few pub/hotel names

RoyalHotel
ThreeHorseShoes
HareandHounds
MasonsArms
OldPostHouse

See how the go over the next few years.

Not sure if there is any money in them, but I like the sound and look of some of them, like RedLion.uk , WhiteHorse.uk etc, I have WhiteBear.uk , aside from being a pub , I quite like colour/animal names.
Good luck with yours.

In my experience, pub names are generally a shockingly difficult sale. YMMV.

It depends. I won't generally buy them from a reseller unless the price is too good to miss, but I offer services to pubs as part of my core business, so I tend to keep an eye out for any that I can catch as potential client sites.

Let's face it, most UK ye' olde pub owners aren't exactly cutting edge when it comes to their IT setup, so if they've survived for decades with owning "TheKingsHead.co.uk" or the "TheWhiteHorse.co.uk" etc they can make it until they peg-out or give up running a pub (by the way many UK pub landlords don't even own the pub so they can't even make a decision if they wanted too). You might flip the odd one sure, but it's just a worse form of trying to flog the old "northamptoncarpenters.co.uk" type of domain.
