There are some domains not listed... nobody knows why. If they tell you let us know because they just totally ignore my questions now.

Have you checked to see if it's just been registered by the Rights holder ? They arent locked in yet.

I just tried to register a .uk for a .co.uk that has rights at 123-reg and they are saying it's not possible.

    Hi Simon,

Thank you for contacting us today.

I would like to let you know that the uk Domains that had the Right Of Registration can no longer be activated for free from the customer's account, as the RoR duration is around 5 years.

However, those can now be pre-ordered.

You can pre-order the domain xxx.uk by following the next link:

    https://www.123-reg.co.uk/order?domain=xxx.uk

For more information about the RoR and the pre-order, you can check out the ".UK domains" section from your Control Panel.

If there’s anything else at all I can do for you please let me know and I’ll be very happy to help.

    Kind Regards,
    Mircea
    123 Reg

    thats not right

The five-year Right of Registration period ends at 6am BST (UTC+1) on the 25th of June 2019.

So... if they have registered the uk on your behalf and are saying you can't have it, that would seem to be very dodgy.

Just spoke to Nominet and they told me that even if you have completed both stages (EPP testbed & Deposited the Funds) you are not guaranteed to get into the tier that originally requested. There is going to be a second review.

I mean what the actual f**k is going on here..

They have always stated these are provisional:
"The current tiers are provisional, we will confirm final tiers and the number of registration attempts per minute w/c 24th June."

I think they are expecting some people who signed up to either not qualify or qualify for a lower tier.
Those attempts per minute that are therefore no longer allocated will be redistributed across the tiers.

They've made a complete mess of it - however this is Nominet's way. They have 'technical support' which consists of people copy/pasting irrelevant answers (they fixed two major problems with test which would've ruined the drops after I pointed them out repeatedly - apparently they don't 'test' their 'test') and 'customer support' that take days to answer and don't work at weekends. They clearly don't have a competent business manager or they'd know that one rule of business is to pleasantly surprise customers - not disappoint them. Tiers should go UP from their own allocation (which nobody asked them to) but they went DOWN in most cases. Their incompetence is astounding yet manages to keep a few pigs snouts in the trough when those pigs have NO knowledge or skills. I can only assume their entire seeming indifference to this is because they know it's irrelevant. We'll know after the release.

I'll be pissed if 60 creates becomes less than 150 creates becomes more, but with how Nominet work, I can see that happening!!!

What you will find is Domain Catchers won't qualify to take part :) only the big registrars. Nominet have never liked the Domain Catching industry.

Not the industry - they don't like any companies making money except the ones that make *them* money. Everything they have introduced has been for their own financial benefit although they will always claim otherwise. I can spot corruption - I live in a country where it is rife.

I just had Nominet on the phone to remind me to connect to the testbed tomorrow before 12.
I said I have not expertise in programming (which I don't) and I feel very let down in the backhanded way the entire thing has been handled.
She says I was the first to say that about it (probably her first call lol)

Sounds like there's a couple of ways to interpret that. If the domain is still available, then your RoR is still valid and you're entitled to register it without preordering it. If they registered the domain during the free period on your behalf, then the domain is yours and they can't let it go to preorder. If they registered it and they're saying you can't have it for free because the free promotion has now ended, that should be time for a complaint to nominet, since the only way they can possibly have registered it is on your behalf, which was free.

Hello Simon, I just tried to use a long term credit held in my DropCatcher account for many years.

However, your dashboard keeps white-screening after I try to select your 'catch .uk' button. Can you resolve this?
