Where is the transparency here then, if there is a bunch of users bidding people up with no intention of paying. Then some of those who did complete might be wondering if they were bid up by people with no intention of paying.

If I bought some of these I might be a bit pee'd off right now, or at least suspicious. Foz's figures are quite high for an auction, especially a closed auction.

It still represents good buying at these levels. The vetting system of £10 per application and the shear volume of interest per lot tells me that the system is on the level. Circumstances for non payment could be, personal or financial overcommitment, lines of credit withdrawn and so on. In tens days the picture will be clearer.

also don't forget that a number of the auctions overran and the terms are 7 days from invoicing so there's still technically some time available to pay.

I just thought it would be more transparent if people knew or had user names of some sort to who they were bidding against.

I know it's nobody at Nominet that is bidding, so not saying that. But things like the g.co.uk who on earth bid that up to 70k+ and if that had have fallen through, what action would Nominet have taken through if (Probably Google) had dumped it on them. I presume just like Sedo they wouldn't have done anything.

For £10 someone may have just cost Google 30k even though they may not have had any intention of paying for it if they had won. Those kind of things site a bit uneasy with me.
