Is this feature new?

And can I just clarify ... is this a facebook type "like" .... because in my mini stats within my profile the 'likes received and given' have a little heart shape icon next to them.

I don't want to like a post .... and then have that poster think I'm a bit ..... suspect

Yes putting like with a love heart on it might seem more like love, what I do like is that your like thread has been liked twice, I like it a lot :p

You know what I mean like :?

Thanks for this Alan, makes things more fun :p

I wonder what will happen to the rep bar ?

To be honest, its a bit of fun yes, but its quite annoying.

One of those features you dont actualy need. We have the rep button...

For me it clutters up the post space and every time you get one makes you think you have a private message...

I think once the novelty wears off it could be quite useful in terms of allowing users to identify good posts etc. Until then there's going to be a lot of random likes.

I don't like the position though. Maybe if the 'like' link and the heart icon were replaced with a thumbs-up icon and the like 'bar' or whatever you would call it was tucked under the signature or something. Basically it needs tidying up a bit.

Spot on, not sure why it has to put a like bar across the posting space, and just got what I thought was a PM and see it was Doodlebug sending me a like.

Sorry mate, couldn't resist ;)

Arsehole

The dropdown 'likes' menu is useful tho for finding the best reply imho. A bit like the 'best answer' message in google webmaster forum threads.

you'll have to have a 'hate' as well button to balance things & make things all nice and equal ....

That's what I was trying to say ... :D

I lose the ability to post sentences that make sense after 9pm
