I've booked a couple of LLL.co.uk domains at caught.co.uk. Given that this is a competitive sector in domain catching am I really unlikely to make these catches with a public service?
Apologies if this has been asked a million times before. I've had a look through through loads of threads and the feeling I'm getting is that it's probably not going to happen…

cheers
Al

Thanks for the info. Would a private catcher be willing LLL's for me on a no win no fee basis or would they just do the maths (£30 versus £x,xxx) and realise it's more beneficial for them to chase the LLL.co.uk for themselves?

Worth doing. Dropsystem.co.uk caught me an LLL once for £30.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Domain monster pick one up sooner or later too.

But as Grant says odds are stacked.

Thanks for your help guys. I'll backlist a few and see how it goes. Seems that programmers really have the upper hand in this game.

If you don't mind me asking: aside from that one you caught with dropsystem how many roughly have you backlisted with pubic catchers that you didn't catch? just to give a rough idea of odds

Can't remember, its all a blur now. ;)

A retail catcher will be up against ~30 private catchers and a majority of them may only have the one LLL in their scan list.

One is registered to deny and the other chris holland both domainers here. So they wont drop anyway.

With any given LLL.couk, it might be better chasing one of the other drops the same day whilst the gull-fight is on, especially with all those quotas are being used up on a single domain name.

Last time Mr Holland forgot to renew a 3L I did catch it, but dont think he will forget again. ;)

Haha, I think I'm getting the picture. I guess that's why those two were available for backlisting on caught.co.uk in the first place - because they're owned by enthusiasts who won't let them drop. After all why would anyone catch a LLL for somebody else - I wouldn't unless I got hundreds for it. I think I'll leave the LLL's for the programmers, put my efforts elsewhere and stop dreaming!

Hi dakkio,

Wise words indeed. Catching the sought after drops is a game for very able programmers. Go for a different angle - there are still many opportunities out there in the world of domaining using different tactics.

best of luck, Luke
