Who buys them?

I'd be interested to know if there is any value in this extension - personally I can't see it.

There's some nice Christian names still available to reg.

Funniest one: looser.me.uk - you just wouldn't would ya?

I bought creditrepair.me.uk... needless to say it's never attracted that much attention.. but makes me about a tenner a month :)

A tenner a month is far better than anything I've got - so there is value then?

theres value in all names..."depending on how you get them to work for you"
it's just not that valuable in resale terms...

So there's NO value in the name or extension as such.

To me value in a name means just that - buy a domain, park it, get type ins, get paid. Money in the name.

example eBAY - There was absolutely no value in the name when it was registered - what's happened since created the value

Same with google - words that didn't exist at the time of registration.

have you been sniffing glue or something...??

Not having owned a .me.uk I cannot detail my experience but I I'm under the assumption that not only is it hard to drive regular traffic to a .me.uk (as I don't believe it to be memorable to the average consumer) it'd be quite hard to monetise as .me.uk is generally for more personal orientated domains.

I have advertise.me.uk listed on sedo getting great traffic!

I do have a couple more, but they are really top end me.uk domains.

I was having a bad day at work a while back and regged mug.me.uk (funnily enough it dropped on the same day)

Will create a blog site for workplace moans eventually (libel withstanding!!)

I think the point I'm trying to make is, lets say, hyperthetically that 2 domains are free to reg

One is Gary.me.uk

The other xodox.co.uk

One is a quality Chriatian name but with the .me.uk ext - the other is made up but with a .co.uk - right now, is one more valuable than t'other?

I don't think .me.uk will ever been a typein domain, only valuable if it has backlinks - so maybe in a few years.

Both are worthless I think Alex.
Unless your called Gary!

You don't think there is any value in the name or extension ?
Try to buy a .name domain now.
If you have .smith.name and can sell unlimited subdomains
a.smith.name, aa.smith.name, aaa.smith.name do the math
just look at .vi and the subdomains they are selling

Even Nominet didnt bother registering nominet.me.uk - I think that says it all!

Bit of a silly reply there Admin - Nominet make the rules! and they stipulate you cannot register a .me.uk domain name to a "Company" so how could they regsiter it

No offence Admin, but you might be better off brushing up on Nominet.org.uk terms and conditions, especially on registering a .me.uk domain name.

Regards,

Sean
