What an amazing day/night, the women winning gold in the cycling, smashing the world record 6 times in the process of getting to and including the final, Jessica Ennis winning the heptathlon, Greg Rutherford winning the long jump and then Mo farah winning the 10,000 metres, outstanding performances from all.

INCREDIBLE DAY!!!

so soo proud to be british and amazing performances today, a night i'll remember for rest of my life :)

Jess Ennis = goddess! she lives 2 mins from me, wish she didn't have a fiancee (hope the gf doesn't see this)

Everything you'd hope would happen did. It was such an epic day for team GB. Brilliant stuff!

These Olympics cost 9 billion pounds. What value this kind of feel-good factor? and we still have over a week to go, as well as an amazing closing ceremony to look forward too.

It reminds you of what we're capable of - hope there are loads of youngsters getting inspired by everything that's going on instead of hanging around Spar shops with their hands down their pants.

Amazing weekend of sport! I'm glued to my box!! Proud to be British...

Fantastic experience watching the Judo live last week, on a day that Japan won silver and the UK bronze (we were doing double duty as cheerleaders). Excel itself was packed, but it was relatively organised chaos, and there was no line worth mentioning at security so the fears of 2h+ queues getting in were utterly unfounded.

NOTE: if you're going to see something at the Excel (or maybe even the Olympic Park) don't automatically believe the route suggested by the official Games transport site. It wanted to send us on a near 1h journey via Stratford and involving 2 changes and a fair amount of walking, whereas we chose to do a few stops on the Northern Line and then straight all the way on the DLR instead after actually looking at a map.

Given 2 tickets for the water polo...didn't even know horses could swim!
Anyway, I'm off there soon (I only live 10 mins away)

The way Bolt and Blake ran in the 100 metre semis, it looks like the world record will be smashed tonight, currently at 9.58 seconds, a sub 9.50 looks on the cards, it would be great to see that, I'll predict 9.47 seconds in the final.

How about I give you £20 for every second under 9.50

And you just give me £10 for every second over?

I am gobsmacked how well we have done already
there was an article I saw earlier that said if Yorkshire was a country it would be beating south africa, australia and japan in medals table

Very surprised the world record didn't go in the 100, especially with them all as expected running under 10 seconds, apart from Powell, who pulled up, thought the record was nailed on there, if Bolt had got out of the blocks cleanly, who knows but, that was a great spectacle to watch.
