ok just wondering if u know know of any basic very basic cms scripts, just a text based one, would be great, also a plus would be a good SEO one also

thanks alot :)

Wordpress may well fit the bill, using pages rather than posts.

Its actually very expandable using various plugins, i'm working on a wordpress powered 'site' at the moment. Most people think of it as a blogging tool / cms only but it actually lends itself very well to being a simple cms too.

My preference would still be wordpress because of the wide user (support) base and variety of plugins its actually a very powerful CMS, but can be as basic as you want at the same time

Yes very easily, there are 1000's of templates i'm sure you could find one you like!

Basically you use wordpress's pages function and not their posts function which allows you to have static pages.

Who's your host? Any host offers lots of preinstalled CMSs today. That's not a problem for them.

How do you use page functions in Wordpress rather than post functions? I didn't even know you do that :(

Wordpress in wonderful....
Just a query ...when you just use pages only (and no post), does google index these pages? I am using wordpress for my blogs and i havent seen my pages being indexed (like other posts)?

It will index them, but unlike regular "posts" I don't think it does a Pingback when you post a new "page" unlike posting a new "post". Those pingbacks mean that you get looked at / indexed pretty sharpish.
