Persuasive maths. The middleman in your example has the perception of added value from regular reported sales into four figures and above. Below this level I would guess they sell a tiny percentage from the swamp of domains listed.

DM should also achieve sales over time, but as a free service they will go unreported except for occaisonal feedback.
