Mac Terminal for whois lookup - history?

My goto to check the whois information on a domain is the Terminal app on my Mac.

Recently I ran a check, the domain was pending delete (and showing the whois details for the registrant) and when I saw it available I registered it.

I wanted to review the information for the previous owner but the Terminal session closed and I can't seem to find the historic results in terminal. Does anyone know if terminal response history is saved anywhere and how to access it?
