Matt Cutts Advises Against Domain Parking

That makes a lot of sense and one of the reasons why many webmasters complain about some delays in getting their websites found and properly indexed by Google when they purchase some parked domains from sellers. If you take a look at some online domain auctions, you will find thousands of addresses which have simply been parked with no use whatsoever and even if they are keyword-rich spots, they will not help the launched websites enjoy any popularity in the future.

It is logical to create some web pages and have then uploaded as quickly as possible once you register and own a new domain name. As Matt has stated, even if there are a few short text lines per page, that will be OK but simply doing nothing and keeping the addresses parked or even under construction is a bad habit and a mistake. This is the reason why even exact-match domains in competitive niches which have been parked for long will take a huge time to get optimized well.

Maybe that's a service that domain listing services should be offering now - an opportunity to post content on the parked page and maybe have additional pages with content.

That would explain why any parked domain i've ever moved to a site takes so long to index! Thx for the share.

I tried his tip about new sites and the content paragraph for a site currently under development. Works.
