I wanted to know a postcode - Redcar Street, Hull, to be precise. I went to Multimap, to be greeted by the message Multimap is now Bing maps!
I'm on a dialup, and I already know Microsoft thinks anyone without broadband is a second class african ...
WTH let's see what happens - enter the query, Redcar Street Hull, make a cup of coffee. Come back, and opening the page has been cancelled.
Retry, 60 results, run through them 10 to a page - nothing corresponds to Redcar Street, Hull. Redcar Street doesn't have anything interesting on it, except for an auto electrician that I can't remember the name of ... get past page 6, we move to a different set of results 1 to 9 and they are MILES from the place of interest. I don't want a museum, hotel or petrol station, I want to look at Redcar Street on a map, and know the postcode ...
Another fine mess from the Bill Gates Foundation for misinformation ... back to the Royal Snail postcode finder, and forget about Multimap forever. It was faster, once upon a time, but now that it's the opposite that's more than twice upon a time Microsoft have turned an effective service into imprecise and slow rubbish that looks good on screen but runs like a geriatric slug on Rohypnol.
I could have got a quicker answer from my satnav but it's cold outside ...
