A growing trend for teenagers to hack into their friends social media accounts could be putting them at risk of becoming accidental outlaws.

A new study suggests that three in 10 young people have been hacked, twice as many as in 2009. 67% of those said they knew the person responsible.

While breaking into a friend’s social network profile without their permission may seem like a harmless prank, many of those doing it probably didn’t realise that they could be breaking the law.
