are .name domains pretty crap? i have not seen anyone using such domains.. could someone explain them to me please

I asked this question a few months ago and no-one answered.

most ppl here are only interested in .com & .co.uks whch are a solid buy.

.Name is suppose to be for sado's (sorry individuals:) ) who want to plaster their name about the web - e.g in the form of their own domain e.g:

johnsmith.name or john.smith.name etc, etc.

this supposed to give them a 'unique id on the web' :mrgreen:

.Name is really more of a yank thing, not big here in UK.

your average user would never have heard of that suffix.

waste of time at the mo unless its a big generic keyword, then moght be of use on search engines etc. :rolleyes:
 
The extension is too long, it would have been better with something shorter like .id or .me
