Hi all, I do use a few whitelabel networks but they're are too risky and i dont like knowing i have gotten say 2000 lifetime members for them and if they ban me them ill lose the lot in one swoop to save them paying out constant cash for the rest of my life..

I have a really nice domain that i want to convert and move over into my own dating software so that i can charge people directly per month (much less than whitelabels charge customers)..

Any ideas on which would be the best software or where i can get some good dating website software that i can run off my own server with a database set up etc..?

Much appreciated!

Where are you going to get the users to populate your new site?

That's where most people fail I guess.

It's been around for ages I'm told but the dating software from webscribble.com should suit you.

Interested in this was looking to set up a similar type of dating site to the traditional style.

Are there stories about whitelabels banning people to prevent recurring payouts?

Even if you did have your own software and high traffic site, how would you convince the first thousand or so to sign up, or return back to, an 'empty' site?

Then you'd have to deal with queries, questions, customer services, complaints etc....

Same as any other dating site starting up, offer free membership to start with then outsource support system, if your making the money it's not an issue on paying out especially with the profit margins.

You still have to convince people to put effort in on the first thousand profiles (even on free membership) to convince the next thousand to pay.

Not saying it can't be done, but each dating site niche is quite saturated. Each site having thousands of members to 'compete' with now.

I own a few dating sites with thousands of uniques p/m. Research along the way showed many independents struggled to get the traction needed.

Don't know the op circumstances, and may have enough visitors to build up their own database quite quickly - but still worth thinking about.

Sure understand a lot of areas to consider to become successful.

Thanks for your reply, very interesting points and i understand what you mean clearly, it is a little worry.

Yes sadly it has been seen that they can ban you as easily as google adsense could ban people without further ado or talk about fixing any apparent issue. It is just too easy to be 'messed' over and be left with £0.00 out of the blue.

I am not saying i do anything bad to be banned, i am saying that some whitelabels like the $$ abit too much and can get greedy, i have seen it done and i dont want to risk it with this project. Thats not to say i dont use whitelabels but only for a relative domain that i am just parking with them until i can get to develop it.

I dont fancy using my first 3000 sign ups on a whitelabel then never knowing each of the users details to keep them mine, then getting banned at some random point in the future and having the rug pulled out from under our business.. We also have a nice amount of cash to throw into promotion further down the line this year too and if we get a huge response which we feel we are going to get then us not owning all of the users directly is dicing with death really.

As for say the first 1000 users.. They can be all test profiles if need be, some softwares have a start off 'beefing up' library of profiles to make it look busy.. As one real sign up person arrives delete a 'beefing up' profile..

Also inviting them for free will also help.. i know some dont like the fact of it being free then paying at a later date but our monthly fee will be pennies compared to most.. I havent came up with a price per month yet but look at it this way even if you were silly enough to charge just £15.00 per year to 1000 people then your at £15k per year already.

That webscribble may do the trick if i can customise it a little.. Its only $199 as well which is just around £124 for the software..

then an additional:
$40 for paypal gateway
Zip Code Locator only $50
Photo Rating only $50

Thats about $339 / £210 in total for set up..

can also have maybe : Live Chat at only $99.. but not really fussed over that..

thank you for your feedback all!

Hi everyone

i found this discussion through a google search so pardon the intrusion but i may have something that is of interest to a few people.

I am literally a few days off finishing my own dating site software solution called MyMatch, the software is all there and working with just a couple of design tweaks to finish, and i'm also just putting together the documentation.

Version 1.0 is for the UK market with other countries/regions coming soon in later versions. We plan to release regular updates, both minor and major for free for the lifespan of the software.

It's a social dating platform similar to mysinglefriend.com whrre users can get their mates to help them search potential matches and write comments about the member. It comes ready with a PayPal module so you can start trading straight away.

Have a look and see what you think, all opinions appreciated.

We're offering the software as a standalone, so you get all the source code and some other bits (psd files, documentation etc) basically you can do with it what you like, the site would be 100% yours, we don't supply members so we don't take any commission.

As a launch special to early adopters we are looking to sell the software for $60 (normal price will probably be around $100). We want to keep it at a good price point to encourage people to try it.

Sorry for any typos, i wrote this from my phone.

Many thanks
Andy
