I've got my brothers birthday coming up in a few weeks and was thinking about buying him either a netbook or low end AKA cheap laptop.

It will be used primarily for surfing the internet. Needs to be able to handle everything the internet can throw at it.

He doesn't play games or anything but will probably want to install Word and a few other bits of software.

Needs to look reasonably good and preferably have a decent battery life.

Looking to spend about £300 +/- (preferably minus)

Any recommendations or good deals you know of?

Thanks chaps ;)

I went with this in the end....

HP Pavilion DM3-1060SA 13.3-inch Notebook (Windows 7 Home Premium, Intel Celeron SU2300 Processor, 4 GB RAM, 320 GB HDD, Bluetooth, 6 Cell Battery)

£399 (was £599). Seemed like an excellent deal for the spec you get – and nice looking with all that brushed steel.
