...techically how do I set up an affiliate link/feed/whatever it is called for an affiliate I sourced myself that does not currently offer affiliate partnerships?

You have to contact them and agree the deal.
You set up the site and get the leads say in an email format and then you sell them on.
If your merchant does not have an affiliate program in place then there is no tracking in place and nothing you can do.
