Subject: [nom-announce] New DAC release and service interruption - 28th
February 2006
We will be launching a new version of the Domain Availability Checker on
Tuesday 28th February. The DAC will be unavailable for fifteen minutes
from 8am for this release. This new version has two important new
features
- the output has been extended to include the TAG as the last field added
to the end of the current output
- the DAC will now support two simultaneous connections per subscriber.
The details on multiple connections are:
-- These can either be both from the same IP address or one from each of
two different IP addresses.
-- Usage limits are aggregated across connections. In other words, the
totals of 432,000 queries per 24 hours per subscriber stays the same,
whether that subscriber uses one or two connections.
-- We will be monitoring the impact of these changes and may increase
these limits in future.
Ordinarily we would give longer notice of any change that required a
change in client code, but many tag holders have asked us to make these
changes urgently.
Full details of the changes are on our website at
