Hi everyone,

I’ve just launched NameBid.co.uk, a new marketplace focused specifically on UK domain-name auctions.

The platform currently offers:

• Zero commission for buyers and sellers
• Ownership checks before auctions go live
• Email-verified bidding
• Clear opening prices and closing times
• Direct PayPal or bank-transfer settlement
• Registrar and Nominet transfers after payment

The first live auctions include Webmails.co.uk, NursingJob.co.uk, MotorHire.co.uk, Agentical.co.uk, GenuineIntelligence.co.uk and several other UK domains.

Hi Linda. Just checked out your site. I was going to DM but it appears to be unavailable.

The colour scheme makes it hard to read a lot of what's on there IE. the top banner, the domains in the listings. Appears to be white on bright green or very feint gray respectively.

Wanted to let you know how it appears, I'm assuming it may be the same for others...?

Looks nice.... initial impression. Not very clear what means what in auction box

Left hand amount=reserve ?
Middle number = bids ?
Right date = end time ?

May seem obvious, but you have to spoon feed this stuff for a first time user. If you have to work it out people will not bother.

Thanks @DomainPortfolio.uk for confirming that you're seeing the same. Seeing more from others, I think that this is cause it's taking on the setting for dark/light mode. That's vibe coding for you

OKay... looking at that screenshot, i wasnt seeing the Highest Submitted / Bids recieved / closes text. Hence my earlier message

Thank you very much for your helpful feedback and kind wishes.

I have now updated the NameBid website as recommended. The footer, Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy clearly identify Linda Williams as the sole-trader operator of NameBid and include the business address and contact email.

I will also contact @Admin (Prashanna) regarding the requirements for including NameBid auctions in the Acorn Domains live-auction feed.

Thank you very much for taking the time to check the site and let me know.

You were absolutely right—the original colour scheme caused some text to appear too faint, particularly on mobile devices and phones using dark-mode settings. I have now removed the bright green, increased the text contrast and changed the affected sections to clearer white, navy and blue colours.

The listings, top banner and administrator pages should now be much easier to read.

I really appreciate your honest feedback. Please let me know if you notice anything else that could be improved.

I would be delighted to integrate NameBid with the Acorn Domains auction feed. Please could you send me the required feed specification or an example from another marketplace?

I can provide a JSON, XML or RSS feed containing information such as:

• Domain name
• Direct auction URL
• Current or opening bid
• Number of bids
• Reserve status
• Closing date and time
• Domain extension and category

Please also let me know whether you require an API endpoint, how frequently the feed should update, and whether there are any specific field names or authentication requirements.

Once I receive the specification, I will arrange the technical integration.
