Geo Domain/s New UK domain auction marketplace – NameBid.co.uk

Geo Domain/s
Hi everyone,

I’ve got three domains running at auction on NameBid:

DataEngineers.co.uk
LoftApartments.co.uk
ComputingCloud.co.uk

All three start at £50 with no reserve, so a single verified £50 bid could win. There’s no buyer premium.

They finish on 27 October. You’ll find the exact closing times on the listings:

The sales are for the domain names only. Happy to answer any questions.

Thanks,
NameBid

£50 could secure your next domain — 6 no-reserve auctions end tomorrow
We have six domains closing on Tuesday 27 October. Each starts at £50, with no hidden reserve:
ComputingCloud.co.uk — 9:15am
DataEngineers.co.uk — 9:30am
LoftApartments.co.uk — 9:30am
MentalHealthAwareness.co.uk — 9:30am
TryAndBuy.co.uk — 9:30am
NicheDomains.co.uk — 9:30am
If yours is the only valid, email-verified £50 bid at closing, you win.
All times UK (GMT). £0 NameBid buyer premium; third-party transfer or settlement fees may apply.
See the listings and full terms: https://namebid.co.uk
These are our own portfolio domains, and we operate NameBid.

Hi Linda,

Some random observations from a first time user, assuming you're still after feedback.

Please don't take them the wrong way, it's a great site and I'm trying to be helpful!!

I don't see an easy link to login or start an account.

There is no point in having a bottom navigation with all that information, fees etc, because I can never get to the bottom of that page.

I'm not sure at first glance who is paying the nominet transfer fee.

When entering my details, I am not sure I trust how widely those details (my email etc) are going to be published and visible to the public so am hesitant to list anything.

Going ahead with readinglamp.co.uk.

I wanted to list it at minimum £1 but it's £25 - ok, but make that clear somewhere. (I'm sure this is all explained somewhere but it's all not immediately obvious).

I have submitted it for verification and I still haven't logged in anywhere which is strange.

There is no confirmation that I have submitted it for verification, I just get another blank form.

Now I'll just wait I guess? I don't know if my application has been lost or is in transit. (edit: I did get the emails ok, so that bit is good)

Anyway, those are the thoughts from a dumb user perspective!

edit: more points

Then the domain listing is pretty well unreadable, there are so many, I'd only ever look at the first few plus a few random ones.

One of the advantages of having all these users and domains is that they can point their domain traffic at your marketplace and at the moment I can only see the domains on that one horrible index page. It would be beneficial to you and the user in my opinion to have a dedicated page as well for each domain that they can point people at for their own auction. edit: I see the individual page for my domain now.

I like the register interest bit!

Thanks for taking the time to go through it properly. That’s useful feedback, and you’re right—people shouldn’t have to hunt around to understand how things work.

I’ve now split the listings into pages of 24 and added filters for live auctions, DemandStart, Buy Now and no reserve. Help, fees and privacy links are also near the top.

The submission form now explains the £25 minimum and how contact details are used. After submitting, sellers get a clear confirmation with their reference and what happens next, rather than another blank form.

There’s no seller account to log into at present; submissions and changes are managed by email. I’ve made that clearer too. Any Nominet or registrar transfer costs need to be agreed between buyer and seller before payment.

Each domain has its own page that sellers can share or point their domain towards.

Thanks again, and for trying it with readinglamp.co.uk. A fresh pair of eyes helps spot things that are easy to overlook.
