Is it me or is there an influx of new users registering asking for domains in the wanted section then when you reply with domains you have all you get is too expensive or its not what im looking for even though domains you sent are the exact they asked for.

example:

a new member posted domain in wanted section, sent then domain i have with price then got a reply they have regged someone simular at reg fee.

Im getting feeling people are only asking for domains so they can get ideas of what to register.

rant over.....sorry

Is it possible to disable posts in the wanted thread for new users (a bit like the signature) until they have posted a certain amount on the site

Very aggravating. I rarely bother to reply to those now.

Wanted forum

I have a certain sympathy for the views expressed here but the other side of the coin is the responses you get from people when you post in the wanted section.

I recently posted looking for non-commercial names and clearly said in the OP that I would ignore any names sent without prices. Some of the PMs I got were just long lists of "BuyWidgets" type domains with absolutely no indication of price at all. They must have come from members who are either incapable of reading or were perhaps just trying to extract urine!

Nevertheless, fortunately, a few members did PM me a few options according to my indicated wants and purchases have now resulted because of that forum post for which I'm grateful.

On balance I guess the wanted forum is best viewed as one of those we must each choose to use or ignore.
