I managed to get MSN Messenger to work, can't remember quite how; and I'm a little disappointed that the picture viewer doesn't have a slide show (unless I have missed it). Had no real time to play seriously with it but it's great for email -- you can set it to poll for new email every x minutes -- saves me sporting a laptop in bed. The thing just 'dings' when you have new mail and it doesn't turn itself off unless you tell it to.

I need to get some stuff from www.maemo.org - need an RDP and SSH client - that would make me happy. But for the money, it's a real gem. The browser is excellent and so is the full-screen touch keyboard. Just need time to play more!

On Maemo, there is a program listed called GAIM. This is out of date however, but it should still work. It should work for:

* AIM
* Bonjour
* Gadu-Gadu
* Google Talk (And other Jabber Applications)
* Groupwise
* ICQ
* IRC
* MSN / Live
* QQ
* SILC
* SIMPLE
* Sametime
* XMPP
* Yahoo!
* Zephyr

The updated one with a new name is called Pidgin and it can be found at http://pidgin.im

Give it a couple of weeks and I'm sure they'll release an up-to-date version.

I had a try of one of these and it is excellent for the money.

(Google Talk is also pre-installed)
