The bugs still being worked on include the following, the majority of
which are due for release this week:

* Unable to release domain to another tag if it is the subject of a
registrant transfer request.
* First 8,000 Automaton replies after restructure not sent as reply
address garbled.
* Modifying a contact requires name and email to be supplied at time of
modification.
* New contacts receiving welcome emails each time a contact is created for
them and each welcome email invalidating previous ones.
* Unable to merge accounts where one account is a registrar account with
multiple tags.
* Unpaid domains not being suspended.
* Unable to remove all billing contacts from an account in one operation,
must remove contacts 2 and 3 first, then contact 1 separately.
* PRSS index generation applies full write lock to domains table thereby
requiring offline rebuild.

In addition to these bugs we are updating the web site documentation and
error messages wherever we receive feedback from registrars that these are
difficult to understand or causing problems.

Thank you very much for your patience with all of this and I can assure
that we are all working hard to get these final issues resolved as quickly
as possible.

What a farce.

Although every database is different and restructing can be a difficult process (I've done quite a few in my time), it's not rocket science and certainly should never take more than a week to do, especially with a mission critical system such as the UK registry.

My advice to Nominet is to employ more knowledge engineers in future, and if it has been contracted out to a firm then I would definitely not use them again and maybe even seek some sort of reimbursement.
