I think it's pretty poor that it's so easy to read them...

I was going to say that, however, I think it's pretty unnecessary to even bother to try and hide them in the first place. But thinking about it, I can see how it may be necessary in some circumstances (eg reg letter coming into a large company, getting opened by the post people, being wheeled around the office on a trolley for all to see - all before the intended recipient gets it).

Hmm. If I were Nominet I'd be looking to bust the balls of the company who provides the service, subject to reading their T&Cs of course.
 
I just tried a couple myself, you dont even need a bright light.

Hold up the letter flat in daylight (doesnt have to be bright sun so the scottish can try as well) and look at a very low angle across the PIN area.

Once you know what you are looking for, ie. the blank area instead of the dotted bits its a piece of piss.
 
There should be an option to not receive the things in the first place.
Mine just go straight in the shreader.
