Captured by speculators? I clearly remember them being called "domainers" that were blamed for trying to capture Nominet in 08 and 09..........

What next, captured by bankers......

People should also remeber Nominet has changed since 2009 also, they now recognise domainers as legitimate which they didn't before.

'It would also force its members to notify Nominet if they have financial links to other members...'

Would Nominet and its Board open up all of its financial dealings to its membership in return?

According to Matt Mansell, CEO of DomainMonster, some Nominet members use multiple identities in order to game the system and increase their chances of catching desirable expiring domains

Have been around for few years now and I don't see this happening on a high volume regular basis.

Anyway Nominet has this covered with the anti-avoidance clause.

I wouldn't place too much importance on the bits in the Register article about speculators - they're drawing inaccurately on an older article of theirs, which itself wasn't very accurate.

Andrew Bennett has wrote a good piece about this on the Nom forum with some great questions that will never get answered.

all smoke and mirrors nominet is like the magic circle without ali bongo...
