NotDesigner.com now sells celebrity jewellery and topical T-shirts. 8 new banners

NotDesigner.com have revamped our website to improve conversion rates yet further and launched some sensational new product lines including Hollywood and Manhattan red carpet jewellery and Vegas buckles and Rhinestone belts.

We will also start selling cult topical t-shirts over the next few days. There is nothing like these: you will be able to make money selling t-shirts based on topical events. For example, a current one would be 'Borat for Prime Minister'.

Britain is obsessed with celebrity culture and anything bling is flying off the shelves this Christmas, so these new products are worth pushing on your websites.

Hi Nadeem,

I am not a ppc expert.

So I can't see why I would pay ppc to your brand when I am not allowed to use your brand name in the ppc terms.

I pay loadsamoney to google to get traffic to a page selling your goods with your brand name on it. If it sells I get 10% of 4% conversions = 0.4% of my spend x product price. (?)

whilst you get your brand to show every time.

If for instance I spend £1000 advertising and don't get any sales, I have just given you that much free advertising.

Yet if I were allowed to use your brand name in order to help me sell the stuff then we are both helping each other. i.e. people will click through knowing that there is your brandname stuff there for sale.

It seems to be the case for all these brand names (not just yours) that they want you to spend your money advertising for them and give very little back.

Please enlighten me to the reality of things!

I take your point. You make a very good argument.

I do PPC as an affiliate myself and certainly wouldn't recommend you blow £1000 before you know you are going to make returns. Try £20 or £30 first.

I always do thorough research before deciding to promote any affiliate program: see if they have a decent looking site, see if the products are desireable, see if it's the right time of the year, see if there are cool banners, see if they are on a good network, see if they have an active and enthusiastic Affiliate Manager, ask others how well they convert... blah blah blah.

If you're even concerned about blowing £20 or £30, I'm going to offer you a 'no brainer' deal. I'm PMing you a free $55 Google Adwords voucher (which I'm happy to send anybody else - just ask (only for new accounts)). Try using that to promote NotDesigner.com. If it works, you make money. If not, you haven't lost anything

RE: the brand-name bidding restrictions, that was set-up by the previous Affiliate Manager and I have no say over that. Most affiliate programs have those restrictions for a gamut of reasons.
